About Us

Making Every Investment Count.

We believe in the power of capital to help close the wealth gap in America. Our investing strategies go beyond just financial gains. Pluralize Capital seeks to catalyze bold ideas that reimagine a better economy that works for more people.

Meet Amy Brakeman, Regenerative Investor

As a white wealth holder, I approach investing with a combination of curiosity, humility, and urgency. I seek to deploy capital to unlock opportunities for people who have been locked out because of systemic racism and other barriers. By investing in innovators who are strategically using business models to improve our world, investors not only see a return on capital, but also social impact. I am also committed to the personal development and well being of the leaders themselves. Their vision, talent, and persistence are the critical element, capital only plays a supporting role.

Impact Themes

Who is at the table driving investment decisions matters. There are many excellent business models and founders that have been denied access to capital. That is why Pluralize Capital invests in diverse enterprises, largely through Black, Indigenous, and Latinx-led funds, that create inclusive pathways to economic opportunity. This approach is not only good for society, it is good business.

1. Delivering Quality Jobs

Income inequality and inability to save has become so alarming that 37% of adults can not access $400 to address an emergency. But quality jobs are not just about a living wage. Two-thirds of American workers feel disengaged at work, which harms companies’ well-being too. That’s why we uplift strategies and systems that improve near-term income and profit sharing, provide paid training and opportunity, increase employee benefits, and center voice, well-being, and dignity in the workplace.

2. Building Wealth

A primary path to wealth building is asset ownership, particularly as wage growth has stagnated. That’s why we invest in business models and funds that focus on business, worker, and home ownership.

3. Taking Collective Action to Shift Power

To truly eradicate wealth inequality, we need to work in collaboration to transform the practices and policies that got us here in the first place. We work alongside values-aligned investors, community leaders, and government entities to address the root causes of inequality through collective action and policy change to ensure our economy benefits the many, not the few.
